How to make Spicy, Roasted Garlic Hummus

Hummus is a savoury spread or dip, originating from Middle-East, made from chickpeas. There are many different types of recipes and flavours for hummus but this is my favourite, home-made Hummus recipe. You just need a few, simple, fresh ingredients to make my version. This Spicy, Roasted Garlic Hummus is so easy to make and is much better than the store-bought ones.

Hummus Ingredients

  1. Chickpeas act as the base for the hummus. You can either use canned chickpeas or home-cooked ones. I used canned ones in this recipe.
  2. Garlic (roasted in butter) is fragrant, caramelized and tastes so much better. It gives the hummus an amazing taste as well as fragrance. I prefer roasted garlic over raw garlic.
  3. Olive oil gives the hummus smooth, velvety and shiny texture and enhances the taste.
  4. Freshly squeezed lime juice adds a prefect zing and tanginess to the hummus.

Making hummus at home is super easy. You just need to combine all the ingredients in a high speed blender or food processor. That’s it! It serves as a great snack or side dish and appeals to people of all ages.

Serve your Hummus with crunchy vegetables like cucumber, bell peppers, carrots, celery. You can also pair it with crackers, thin crisps or pita bread. Watch my video on instagram to learn HOW TO MAKE A CHARCUTERIE BOARD!
